50 years of progress cuts smoking rates in half — but can we ever get to zero?
Fri Jan 10, 2014
In reply to: Eric-1017922 #191 I'm sorry but there is no point drawing comparisons between cigarettes and pot. Just because both are smoked doesn't mean they are somehow comparable. It would be far more appropriate to compare weed with alcohol and cigarettes with, say, gum.
'Burning up the phones' to find place for brain-dead girl, family attorney says
Wed Jan 1, 2014
She has just as much "chance to recover" from this condition as she does in bursting up out of her grave at some point later on. If you believe in miracles, then the ventilator isn't necessary in the first place and isn't making any difference either way. Someone needs to point that out to the famil …
New ship on the way after Antarctic rescue boat hits ice
Fri Dec 27, 2013
"Vessel sent to rescue explorer ship encounters heavy Antarctic ice" You have to be kidding me...no way, Gilligan!
Company has 'parted ways' with PR exec after tweet on AIDS, Africa and race
Sat Dec 21, 2013
She was under the impression that there was "no such thing as bad publicity". She was wrong.
Consumers have had enough, 'rage survey' says
Tue Dec 10, 2013
1. Many younger people have been taught that they are the center of the universe and nothing else matters...and they behave that way. They want everything done perfectly right now. As these people become consumers, the statistics keep getting worse and nothing is ever going to change that for …
Woman swaps letters for candy in obesity fight
Wed Oct 30, 2013
Hey, lady, candy once a year ISN'T THE DAMN PROBLEM (I would add "you freaking moron!" but that would be rude). Chill OUT. You aren't the health sheriff in this here village. Or at least be consistent...hand out letters to smokers, soda drinkers, meat eaters, etc., while you're at it. Give the finge …
Mom of girl charged in Florida bullying suicide arrested on child abuse charges
Fri Oct 18, 2013
It's just a guess based on one photo, but to me the mother looks like she may have been abused herself. It's probably just the same old "cycle of violence" which can continue for generations until someone, somewhere finally puts a stop to it. Perhaps the sheriff was the one to do that this time. He …
Family of woman killed in DC chase wants answers
Sat Oct 5, 2013
I'd say ramming a gate at the White House with a car and thus injuring officers stationed there is a pretty sure sign of being "unstable". Her meds were clearly not adjusted correctly and that isn't the fault of the officers who shot her. Don't wanna get shot, don't ram the gate. Until I hear a good …
1 biker charged, another critical in NYC Range Rover chase
Tue Oct 1, 2013
He took the wrong approach. He should not have tried to speed away from the bikers, he should have aimed right at them, one by one if necessary. Who needs a gun when you've got a Rover? The idiots on the bikes were utilizing gang-style tactics against a single vehicle, and I think the driver showed …
Fast food drive-thrus get just a little slower
Mon Sep 30, 2013
Ridiculous. If I see a REALLY long line, I usually just go somewhere else. Three minutes? There is NO WAY you can park, wait, order, get your food and return to your car at any of these joints, basically ever, in only three minutes. Perhaps if you walk in some place at 10PM and order whatever they'v …
